Germination rate is important in estimating the biological effect of heavy ions radiation for seed plants. Many researchers reported that germination of seeds was inhibited by heavy ions radiation, especially at relative higher dose. Germination is a complicated physiochemical process, which is influenced by lots of factors. Chang (2005) figured out that the decrease of enzyme activity or enzyme inactivation in seeds might responsible for the decrease of germination of maize implanted by N+ ions. Amylase is the most important proteolytic enzyme for germination of cereal crops seed, so amylase activity plays an essential role in the process of germination.
