Traumatic carotid cavernous fistula is a complication of craniocerebral injury. Since LOCK1 (1928), the ligation of the internal carotid artery has led to many improvements in the treatment of this disease, but so far there is not a very ideal method. In recent years, some authors have studied the anatomy of the cavernous sinus in detail. In addition, with the continuous improvement of electrocoagulation, a new way has been opened up for the treatment of this disease, especially for the bilateral internal carotid cavernous fistula, which has unparalleled advantages . This article describes the frontotemporal craniotomy coagulation thrombosis method of treatment of this disease, both closed the fistula, but also retained the intracranial internal carotid artery circulation, with seven cases report.
