机车锅炉烟管的材料是10号优质碳素钢的无缝钢管,管子外径为51公厘,壁厚为2.5~3.0公厘。每台机车锅炉有150根这样的直管子,在大修时,大约要焊接150~300个对接头。过去,各机车修理工厂对这种管子的对接都采用气焊方法。由于生产率低,质量不稳定,因此试验了闪光焊接的方法。现在这种焊接方法已在几个工厂中试验成功,并正式运用到生产中去。所用的焊接机是1941年日本制造,型号为 HBL-F,设备功率为100仟伏安。夹紧装置和送进机构均用压缩空气带动,闪光过程和顶锻过程用油缸控制。这个焊接机在正式运用以前进行了必要的改装,使适合于管子的
