A phase-averaged Wigner distribution trajetory method is suggestedto calculate the dissociative probability of CH_4 on a solid surface for the firsttime.The results are compared to accurate quantal talculations nd are foundto be more accurate than those calculated by the standard quasiclassical trajecto-ry method,especially in the threshold region.
