Cheng Men was the most influential painter in the late Qing Dynasty, noted for his biggest attainment in light crimson porcelain. Influenced by the Shanghai and Xin’an school of painting, his paintings are tinged with humanistic colors. He also took to porcelain painting as a famous painter. He won widespread approval from men of letters of the time. The author describes the paper and porcelain painting done by Cheng Men and his son newly discovered to reveal their skills and attainment.
