我省的农民业余文化教育工作,在中国共产党和人民政府的领导下是取得了不小成绩的。仅自一九五二年以来,全省劳动人民用速成识字法摆脱文盲状态的恤有四十万人。一九五四年,全省工人参加常年业余文化学习的有九万人,农民有六十五万人,城市市民有一万五千人,并出现了平顺县西沟村农林牧生产合作社等合作社办民校的新情况。但是,我省的农村扫盲工作,在经过大力整顿、克服了盲目冒进的错误后,由于对整顿扫盲工作的积极意义宣传不够,也由于整顿后的方针、任务、做法还不十分明确,不少地方又发生了放松领导的倾向。这是目前我省农民业余文化教育工作中必须解决的主要问题。自从今年四月冬学转为常年民校以来,有一部分民校是办得很好的,但也有一部分民校是办得不好或不够好的。办得不好的重要原因之一,就是有些党政领导机关、文教主管部门放松了对于这一工作的领导,有的地区甚至陷于无人负责的状态。如有的专署和县的文教主管部
