The RVV-AE active radar-guided medium-range air-to-air missile (see photo) - comparable to the AMRAAM in the United States - has a maximum range of 88km and can hit maneuver targets up to 12g, the designers said. The missile, designed by Vympel Design Bureau, has completed half of its final 2-3-year cycle and will enter the batch next year. Officials at the Design Bureau told our correspondents that production orders have been obtained from the Russian Air Force’s Peace Corps, although they have not yet mastered the exact number to be purchased. RVV-AE length 3.6m, launch weight of 175kg.
