目前,一个国际研究人员小组的一项研究揭示了稻瘟病菌(Magnaporthe oryzae)是如何侵害植物组织的。这一项研究成果向着知晓如何防治该种病害迈进了一步。据估算,每年稻瘟病造成的水稻损失足够养活6千万人。这个由堪萨斯州立大学植物病理学家Barbara Valent教授领导的研究小组发现,该真菌已演化出两个截然不同的分泌系统,以利于它入侵水稻植株。这项研究结果已发表在近期《Nature》的在线杂志上。
Currently, a study by an international team of researchers reveals how Magnaporthe oryzae infests plant tissues. This research achievement takes a step toward knowing how to deal with this kind of disease. It is estimated that the annual rice loss caused by rice blast is enough to feed 60 million people. The team led by professor Barbara Valent, a plant pathologist at Kansas State University, found that the fungus has evolved two distinct secretion systems to help it invade rice plants. The findings of the study have been published in the recent online journal Nature.
