Due to the discovery of a new cancer-fighting method that embeds radioactive iodine in the body, the life of some patients with pancreatic cancer is prolonged. Only about 10% of patients with this fatal cancer survive more than two years after diagnosis, and 30% of patients who receive new therapies are expected to survive for more than two years. The invention of this therapy is the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
