我队位于巴林右旗中部,海拔较高,无霜期仅110天左右。历年来,除了受旱、风、虫、雹等自然灾害外,早霜的危害也很严重。1968年由于早霜袭击,粮食减产了3万斤。1970年我队在有关部门的帮助下,建立了烟雾防霜和人工防雹小组。经过两年实践,取得了较好的效果。1970年有40亩高粱由于防御了早霜,延长了生育期12天;1971年有17亩高粱延长了生育期7天,使在我队难于成熟的晋杂五号高粱获得了高产。烟雾弹制作方法:1.原料:硝铵、锯末、硫磺、枪药。2.配制比例:锯末1.5斤,硝铵1斤,硫磺0.2斤,枪药0.1斤。3.配制方法:先将锯末、硝铵分别烘干,压碎后再与硫磺、枪药混合,拌匀即可。每2两为一包,加上火捻就可应用。每包成本费约为3分钱。早霜预测与点雾:在早霜即将来临的季节,组成以基于民兵为主体的观察组,在无风云的下午,气温下降,就有可能出现早霜。从晚间零点开始到第二天日出前轮流值班观察。观察方法有两种:一种是有温度计时,注意当气温下降到1℃时,就立即点雾;另一种是如无温度计时,可将铁片、铁锹等铁器放在野外,当铁器上慢慢出现小水珠,水珠由少变多并逐渐变白时,立即点雾。点雾时要注意风向,取上风头,每隔6～7米放1个烟雾弹,每亩放置7～8个,即可防霜。
