中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席江泽民,在6月9日全国党校工作会议上就加紧培养适应新世纪要求的中青年领导干部问题发表重要讲话。江泽民指出,建设好我们的党,首先要提高党的各级领导干部的思想政治素质,特别是要努力提高中青年领导干部的思想政治素质,使之成为忠诚于马克思主义、坚持走有中国特色社会主义道路、会治党治国的新一代政治家。第一,要大力加强中青年领导干部的党性修养,使他们始终坚持全心全意为人民服务
