城市垃圾是一个长期存在的污染源,特别是产业和人口集中的大城市,产生的大量固体废弃物数量惊人,处理不善将会造成严重的环境污染,危及人们的健康和生存。沉重的垃圾问题北京海淀区坐落着30多所大学,拥有130多个科研院所,是三军总部所在地,更有颐和园、圆明园、香山、植物园、动物园等旅游景点分布其间。这里地理位置处于北京市的上风上水,常住人口144万,日产垃圾达2500~2900吨。长期以来,这一地区的有关部门一直承受着如何处理垃圾的极大的压力。1995年北京市政府决定在昌平县上庄乡建一积肥站,用海淀区的生活垃圾制作肥料。1996年这项工作开始进行,到1997年春天,堆积的垃圾开始腐烂变臭,给当地群众的生产、生活造成
Urban waste is a long-term source of pollution, especially in large cities with concentrated industries and population. The large amount of solid waste generated is staggering. Poor handling will cause serious environmental pollution and endanger people’s health and survival. Heavy rubbish problem Beijing Haidian District is home to more than 30 universities and more than 130 research institutes. It is home to the three armed forces headquarters, and is also home to tourist attractions such as the Summer Palace, Yuanmingyuan, Xiangshan, Botanical Garden and the zoo. The location is located in Shangshui, the capital of Beijing, with a permanent population of 1.44 million and daily garbage production of 2,500-2,900 tons. For a long time, the relevant departments in this area have been under tremendous pressure to deal with garbage. In 1995, the Beijing municipal government decided to build a compost station in Shangzhuang Township, Changping County to use the domestic garbage of Haidian District to make fertilizer. In 1996, this work began. By the spring of 1997, the accumulated garbage began to rot and become odorous, causing damage to the local people’s production and life.
