High-strength steels are finding ever-wider applications as awareness of the potential benefits spread and theknowledge required by designers increases.According to thedifferent processing routes, the YS levels of high-strengthsteels are commercially available as follows:rnN (normalizing heat treatments) and CR(controlledrolling):355-420 MPa;rnTMP(thermo-mechanical processing):355-700 MPa;rnRQT(reheating, quenching and tempering): 500-1 300 MPa;rnDQ(direct quenching): 890-1 100 MPa;rnDQT (direct quenching with subsequent tempering) :700-960 MPa.
