海南省澄迈县有至今保存完好的以火山岩建筑和火山岩生产生活工具为特色的古村落群。对其文化价值进行深入发掘,是保护澄迈火山岩古村落群的前提。在物质文化价值上,古村落以村口池塘为中心扇形布局,以挖池塘等活动产生的火山岩建造的房屋、墓葬、道路和生产工具,融入了当地生活的方方面面,充分彰显了古村落群的建筑价值。在精神文化价值上,澄迈县古村落群中以冼夫人文化为代表的冯氏大宗祠等大量存在的宗祠、牌坊蕴藏了维护国家统一的爱国主义精神、宗族和尊师重教的文化传统,还有以军坡节为代表的非物质文化遗产。
