The first generation of collective leadership of the Communist Party of China was gradually formed from the Zunyi Meeting and ended in the “Cultural Revolution.” The first generation of leaders refers to Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Ren Porridge, Chen Yun, Deng Xiaoping, and Lin Biao. From the beginning of the long march through the Zunyi Conference to the occasion of the “Cultural Revolution,” there will be some changes in the positions of the party leaders. The reasons for their changes are objective and subjective. A profound analysis of the reasons for the change in his or her position and the realistic ordering of such changes are the topics that can not be avoided in the study of Chinese modern history, especially in character studies and personal assessment.
