Analysis and experiments show that: in low-traffic satellite communication system (each station traffic ≤ 1 Erlan), with single-carrier on-demand distribution multiple access connection technology to maximize cost savings; the same time, In satellite communications systems (between 5 and 25 Erlang per station), time-division multiple access on-demand allocation can also greatly reduce expenses. In both systems, assigning multiple access on demand can benefit us in two ways: fewer total voice circuits are needed and fewer total satellite channels are required. The former can save earth station investment, while the latter can save the cost of space segment. This article analyzes these benefits. And a low-traffic satellite network as an example gives the analysis results.
