BACKGROUND: To observe effects of exercises of masticatoryfunction after orthodontic treatment of dentognathic deformity.rnUNIT: Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Hospital,Fourth Military Medical UniversityrnSUBJECTS: 44 patients were investigated including 23 malesand 21 females with mean age 26. 8 years old. According to etiologyof deformity, all cases were divided into: asymmetry of mandible, 19cases; disease of condyloid process, 9 cases; stiffness of unilateraltemporomanibular joint, 6 cases; parotid arch syndrome, 5 cases;simple deviation deformity of cheek, 5 cases.rn
