海伦·福斯特·斯诺(1911—1997)是美国记者、作家。她于1931年至1939年旅居中国,亲历了中国历史上这一转折时期的一系列重大事件。她撰写了《续西行漫记》等报道,和埃德加·斯诺等人一起,首先向西方读者介绍了中国红军和中国革命,并在中国发起了“工业合作运动”以帮助中国人民进行抗日战争。为纪念这位架设中美人民友谊桥梁的先驱,由美国联合技术公司资助,美国杨伯翰大学摄制了这部电视文献片。本刊获准刊出脚本。该片记叙了海伦·斯诺的在华岁月和她与埃德加·斯诺的情感生活,具有较高的史料价值。
Helen Foster Snow (1911-1997) is a U.S. journalist and writer. She lived in China from 1931 to 1939 and witnessed a series of major events during this turning point in Chinese history. She wrote such reports as “The Endangered West Bank,” and Edgar Snow, who first introduced the Chinese Red Army and the Chinese revolution to Western readers and launched the “Industrial Cooperation Movement” in China to help the Chinese people to carry out Anti-Japanese War. To commemorate this pioneer who set up the bridge of friendship between the Chinese and the Americans, funded by United Technologies Corporation, Brigham Young University produced this television documentary film. This journal is allowed to publish a script. The film chronicles Helen Snow’s years in China and her emotional life with Edgar Snow, with a high historical value.
