During its nearly half-century history, Tonga Academy of East Asian Nations conducted a large-scale travel survey in China with thousands of investigations involving all aspects of Chinese society, providing important information to the Japanese government and the military, to a certain extent, Japan Aggression war service. The survey data mainly include travel logs and survey reports. Travel logs are recorded along the way of students participating in the survey. Survey reports are special surveys on a certain area or topic. They traveled by rail or waterway and traveled through the major rivers in north and south China by means of on-the-spot trips, gathering first-hand information on the investigation of China’s national conditions. At present, the archives of the large travel investigation of the same-language college in East Asia were left behind when the college retreated. These survey materials are quite precious and reflect the behavior of the academy during the entire Sino-Japanese war. The contents and characteristics of the investigation are worth further study. It is of great significance to studying the policy that Japan implemented in China during wartime.
