《乱中日记残稿》为义和团历史研究重要文献,孔祥吉等学者曾对其真实性提出质疑,此学术公案迄未有定论。经对若干袁昶世存文献版本与内容的梳理,并将《袁京卿日记》与《乱中日记残稿》加以比对,可知两者为袁昶庚子日记的两种传钞本,内容有相当部分重合,主要差别在于《残稿》删略了若干条按语,并有少量文字变动,但不影响日记原意的表述。《残稿》另有部分内容系后窜入,可能是1905年《太常袁公行略》出版时由编辑者所添。又《袁京卿日记》本身富有极高的史料价值,而学界利用仍嫌不足,本文据以对义和团运动中若干重要史事做考订与补正。
“Unreasonable Diary” is an important document in the history of the Boxers. Kong Hsiang-ji and other scholars once questioned its authenticity. This academic case has not yet been finalized. After comparing some versions and contents of Yuan Chang’s published documents and comparing “Yuan Jingqing Diary” with “Chaos Diary”, we can see that both of them are two kinds of notes of Yuan Chang’s total diary, The main difference lies in the deletion of a few clauses in the “draft script” with a few changes in the text but without affecting the original expression of the diary. Another part of the “residual draft” fleeing into the system may be added in 1905 by the editors of “Too Many Yuan”. The “Diary of Yuan Jingqing” itself is extremely rich in historical value, but the academic circle is still not enough. This article is based on the examination and revision of some important historical events in the Yihetuan Movement.
