The Ministry of Land and Resources will actively formulate encouragement policies to support domestic enterprises in conducting overseas exploration and development of mineral resources such as petroleum, iron-rich, copper, chromium, and potassium salts, and provide targeted services for enterprises. In recent years, the domestic mineral resources situation in China is grim. There are 24 reserves of 45 major minerals. By 2010, only 24 species will be required. By 2020, only 6 will remain. At present, China’s oil has been imported for nine consecutive years, and the dependence on foreign metals such as iron, copper, manganese, and chromium continues to increase.
