According to the Soviet Union’s “Technology and Armed Forces,” the 1981 issue of the 7th and the 9th of September reported that the Soviet Union did use two identical side-mounted transmissions on the T-72 instead of the usual single-speed transmission. This design is very new, has attracted people’s research interest.
