我的父亲叶绪耕,浙江慈溪观海卫人,生于1884年,自幼受甲午战败后爱国思潮的影响,立志赴日深造,欲以工业救国。后考取官费留学就读于京都帝国大学专攻采矿、冶金专业,获工学士学位。回国后,父亲先后在淳安剑门锑矿等几个条件艰苦的矿场任职。后应学长、民国政府工商部矿政司司长何燮侯先生邀请,组建九成炼矿公司。因逢战事,所定规划和美好蓝图都未能实现。约于1919年—1926年间,父亲受聘于汉冶萍公司,任驻日本事务所所长。
My father, Ye Xugeng, was born in 1884 in Cixi, Zhejiang Province. He was influenced by the patriotic trend since the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War in early 1950s and is determined to go to Japan for further studies. He wants to save the country with industry. After the examination officer fees studying at Kyoto Imperial University specializing in mining, metallurgy, bachelor’s degree. After returning home, his father worked successively in several difficult fields such as Jianmen Antimony Mine in Chun’an. At the invitation of the seniors, Mr. He Xiehou, director of the Political Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of China, set up Jiucheng Mining Company. Because of the war, the planned and beautiful blueprint have failed to achieve. From 1919 to 1926, his father was employed by Han Yee Ping Company as director of the Japanese firm.
