恭维语作为一种积极的言语行为,被称为社会交际的“润滑剂”。恭维语的性别差异作为恭维语研究的一个重要部分,也同样引起了许多学者的关注。本文以合作原则,礼貌原则和面子理论为基础,运用Mane和Wolfson对美国日常会话中的恭维语模式,通过定量方法统计并分析美剧《绝望的主妇》第一季中177个恭维语言语行为例子,从句法,话题,社会功能和应答策略等方面分析了恭维语使用的性别差异,试图回答以下三个问题:1)女性是否比男性更易被恭维和受到恭维?2)恭维的话题和功能是否受到性别的影响?3)男女恭维语及其应答策略是否存在差异?进而印证Mane和Wolfson的模式是否在影视剧中也同样适用。
Compliment as a positive act of speech, known as social communication “lubricant ”. The gender difference of compliment language as an important part of the compliment language research also aroused the concern of many scholars. Based on the principle of co-operation, politeness principle and face theory, Mane and Wolfson use the quantitative method to count and analyze the complimentations of 177 compliments in the first quarter of American drama “Desperate Housewives” Analyzes the gender differences in the use of compliments in terms of syntax, topics, social functions and response strategies, trying to answer the following three questions: 1) Are women more complimentable and complimentable than men? 2) Compliments about topics and functions are Are there any gender differences? 3) Are there any differences between male and female compliments and their response strategies? It further confirms whether Mane and Wolfson’s model is equally applicable in TV series.
