小氮肥厂的煤气发生炉,多采用石棉填料密封结构。石棉填料易损坏,寿命短,最多仅有10天,有时一星期就得更换两次,因此,漏气严重。据此,有些厂曾改用球面或锥面机械密封,但因加工困难,精度和光洁度不易保证、费工费时以及操作中的碰撞而失效等而难于用上。1979年,我厂以平面机械密封结构取代了填料密封。该种密封结构简单,易于加工,密封性能好,寿命长,若使用得当,维修间隔期在一年以上。此外,因多设了加焦面,防止了在加焦时以及启盖炉盖时的碰撞,保障了密封面的精度,从而在制气中无泄漏。若遇上煤
