在异龄林天然资源调查时,对苗木生长中茎干和树干粗度的测定,大多采用工业生产的工具(如卡尺、普通测量叉等)。这项作业要耗费大量的时间。为了加快测速,鞑靼林业实验站研制了一种轻便的手携式测叉。此叉不仅按一定的原理制作,而且还可以作相应的变化以适应幼苗、栽植苗、立木的测定。仪器为楔形槽状(见图),具有8—15个常定粗度级数量相应的测定锯齿口。对于粗度在1.5cm 的幼苗,锯齿口最小排列到1—2mm,对于小于3cm 的栽植苗排列到2—4m m,立木(<30cm)为1—2cm,大于30cm 的立木为2—4cm。
