1.英国教学大纲委员会对英语教学方法体系所做出的新提议及其反响.英国新的语言教学大纲废除了在英语教学上占统治地位近达三十年之久的“新进”教学法.这在英国国内外语言教学史上不能不说是一次戏剧性的变化.此次变化在英国引起了巨大反响和激烈争议.一九九二年九月十日,每日电讯报(Daily Telegraph)一篇题为‘Progressive’Teaching Is Abandoned的文章报导了这一变化:新进(或革新)教学法被废除.传统语法为纲教学法重新登上英国语言教学大纲的大雅之堂.后来又在一篇Don’tTake the Pupils Who Cannot Spell的评论中提出了推行这一决策的相应措施.
1. The British Syllabus Committees New Proposals and Their Response to the English Teaching Methodology System The New English Syllabus for English abolished the “new” teaching method that dominates English teaching for nearly three decades This is a dramatic change in the history of language teaching both in the UK and abroad. This change has caused great repercussions and intense controversy in the UK. On September 10, 1992, the Daily Telegraph, An article entitled ’Progressive’Teaching Is Abandoned’ reported the change: the new (or innovative) pedagogy was abolished, and the traditional grammar was re-embarked on the English language syllabus for the metaplasma approach. Commentary on Don’tTake the Pupils Who Can not Spell sets out the appropriate measures to implement this decision.
