由苏联科学院西伯利亚总分院流体动力学研究所、脉冲流体动力学特殊结构设计室、乌克兰科学院巴顿焊接研究所、苏联科学院化学物理研究所、苏联国家科学技术委员会以及苏联理论与应用力学国家委员会等六个单位联合举办的第2届苏联材料爆炸加工会议于1981年9月8—10日在新西伯利亚科学城举行。中、美、西德、英、日、印度、南斯拉夫、保、捷、波、东德等13个国家约50名外国代表应邀参加了这次会议。
