随着高校外语教学改革的进一步深入,专门用途英语ESP(English for Specific Purpose)作为应用语言学研究领域一个热门学科,即把大学英语和学生专业知识相结合的外语教学理念逐渐得到学术界的肯定。现行外语教学体制下的大学英语分层次教学理念已经为大家所熟知,在实践教学中也取得了很大的成功,教学效果明显改善。然而以专业为基础的英语教学目前在国内尚处在探索阶段,许多高校在尝试基于学科的大学英语教学。为了进一步提高学生的英语综合素养和水平,本文以西藏民族学院为例,提出了在实施大学英语分层次教学的同时,对于学生程度好的班级有意识的进行所学专业的英语知识教学,把二者进行有机结合的教学新理念并试图论证这种教学理念的可行性。
With the deepening of foreign language teaching reform in colleges and universities, ESP (English for Specific Purpose), as a hot subject in the field of applied linguistics, has gradually gained the recognition of the academic circles as the concept of foreign language teaching which combines the professional knowledge of college English and students . Under the current foreign language teaching system, the concept of multi-level teaching of college English has been well known to all and has also achieved great success in practical teaching. The teaching effect has been remarkably improved. However, the professional-based English teaching is still at the exploratory stage in our country at present. Many colleges and universities try the subject-based college English teaching. In order to further improve students’ English comprehensive literacy and level, taking Tibet Nationalities Institute as an example, this paper puts forward that in the process of carrying out college English teaching in different levels, we should consciously carry out the professional English knowledge teaching for the students with good students level, Who combine the new concept of teaching and trying to demonstrate the feasibility of this teaching philosophy.
