中99是以抗虫中3×3474为母本,多毛早3号为父本复合杂交,经中低世代测产和综合抗性鉴定、高代纯化提高等技术育成的棉花优良种质系。其对棉蚜和棉红铃虫有较强的抗(耐、避)性,并高抗枯萎病,抗耐黄萎病,具有较好的综合农艺性状。中99已通过成果鉴定,并作为种质系发放和在部分地区试种。特征特性株高85～90厘米,生育期135天。茎叶茸毛多,叶色深,叶片中等偏大。根系发达。果节稍长,铃长呈圆形,铃重6.3克,衣分39.5％左右,籽指11.2克。出苗快而整齐,前期早发;开花吐絮集中,烂铃少,吐絮畅。纤维洁白有丝光,2.5％跨长29—31毫米,比强度19.3～21克/Tex,麦克隆值4.4。
