In the hydropower unit condition monitoring and diagnosis system, the axis locus is an important feature to diagnose the condition of the unit. In this paper, the gray system theory of the degree of correlation analysis method, the use of invariant moments as the eigenvector, automatic identification of turbine generator shaft locus. The principle of the method and the practical application steps are introduced in detail. The simulation experiments on the automatic identification of three kinds of typical axial trajectories are carried out. The results show that the method is effective and feasible
