词语的锤炼,古人叫做“炼字”。它是我国传统的修辞艺术。刘勰《文心雕龙.章句》篇提到:“夫人之立言,因字而生句,积句成章,积章而成篇。”指出词语作为语言的基本单位,其使用的好坏直接影响表达效果。因此词语锤炼的目的在于从众多的表意词语中选择符合题旨情境的最恰当的词语,以取得理想的表达效果。
