1991年9月16日上午,传来了张祥同志逝世的噩耗,我几乎不敢相信这突然而来的事实。几天前,我俩还见面交谈。怎么会一下子……。 张祥同志是湖北省南漳县人,生于1931年,1948年参加革命,1950年加入中国共产党。曾参加人民解放军和人民志愿军,立过战功,后转地方工作。自1983年起任昌吉州建设局副局长,1980年起兼任城建志主编,1990年被评为昌吉州修志先进个人,1991年4月离休,离休后仍坚持参加修志工作。1991年9月14日北京夏令时1时50分,因脑溢血去世,享年61岁。直至病逝当天,还在实地搜集编志资料。他的逝世,使我们从此失去了一位亲密的战友,是我州修志事业的一大损失。
