中国京剧院上演《白毛女》,这不是一件普通事。戏曲界对这件事情很关心,观众对这件事情更关心。我是一位戏剧工作者,几年来我們对于地方戏曲形式表現現代生活,多少費过一点脑子,也遇到过一些困难与阻力,或者說还进行过一番斗争。所以对京剧上演《白毛女》,感到特別亲切。那天谢幕时观众鼓了九次掌。他們的成功,好像給我們出了一口气,当时我的心情非常激动,几乎要流出泪来。我現在不是简单的对他們表示拥护,是要他們足够的估计自己这一革新工作的意义,与对手推进全国戏曲事業向前發展的重大作用。——更少对于我們山西省今后上演現代戏,給予了莫大的支持。
