烟叶的质量包括物理性状、化学成分、内在质量和安全性四个方面。物理性状是指部位、成熟度、颜色、光泽、组织、油分、身份、填充性、弹性、燃烧性、灰分、梗片比率等。化学成分是指糖、氮、尼古丁、蛋白质、钾、钙、氯等,特别是主要成分间的协调和平衡尤为重要。内在质量是指燃吸时人们的感官评定,包括香气、吃味、刺激性,劲头等。安全性是指少毒少害,即尽可能减少对人体健康有害的物质,如焦油的含量。五十年代以前,昌潍地区的烤烟即以“青州烟”的名称在国内外享有较高的声誉。但是,
