屏风在我国有着非常悠久的历史,是与人们的生活有着密切关系的古老家具之一。素屏作为屏风中的一种,既带有屏风的一般性功能,也带有自身的特性。在古代社会,素屏除了发挥自身的实用功能之外,还逐渐成了以古代文人为代表的团体的情感寄托。从目前情况来看,有不少学者都对屏风做过一定的历史研究。但是,对于素屏发展的历史脉络却常常是一带而过,仅仅将其作为屏风中的一种略作说明。因此,对素屏进行详细而深入的研究有着很重要的意义。本文将以图像记录和文献记载为主要材料,去探寻素屏的历史发展轨迹。
