《五帝本纪》是《史记》最为重要的篇目之一。它是司马迁站在汉代历史的制高点上,以高尚的人格情操、深广渊博的才识,对上古三千年历史的总结,也是史公为人类社会所构建的理想国。《五帝本纪》所包含的“大一统”、仁德与祥瑞、天下为公与禅让等观念是历史性、当下性、未来性的结合,对西汉文化的建构有着深刻的影响。
