1981年新加坡暴发1次该国有史以来的特大口、手、足病的流行。从1981年8月起,开始注意到在一诊所内该病患者数目骤增,加强了监视和报告制度后,在9月14日～11月15日期间总共报告617例。对270名报告的病例进行了流行病学的调查。几乎所有的病人(93％)都在10岁以内。64％的病例年龄为1～4岁。在这些病人的家庭中又发现了83例继发病例。又对60个家庭的256名室内接触者进行调查,
In 1981, Singapore’s outbreak of the history of the country’s extra-large mouth, hand, foot epidemic. Beginning in August 1981, noting that there was a surge in the number of patients in a clinic, a total of 617 cases were reported between September 14 and November 15 after the monitoring and reporting system was strengthened. An epidemiological survey of 270 reported cases was conducted. Almost all patients (93%) are within 10 years of age. 64% of cases were 1 to 4 years old.
