东方先锋剧场不难找,尽管排在京城小剧场的队伍里,却不像其他小剧场藏在某个巷子或者某个院子深处,人要穿过胡同,与溜着狗或者扇着蒲扇的大爷大妈擦身而过。剧场在东方新天地靠近银街口的地方,那片大体量玻璃幕墙煞有介事地一路张扬着从王府井步行街南口横到了东单银街口。其实,当年那条街改叫“银街”之初,并没有眼下银桥飞架的飞扬眉目。那时是1990年代末,桥是铸铁的,油漆有些斑驳,跟“银街”的称呼不大相称,那时叫“银街”其实只为应王府井金街的景。
