高中,是一个人初步确立人生理想并迈出步伐之处。在这里,需要仰望灿烂的星空,也需要脚踏坚实的大地。在这个关键的阶段,作为教育者,应该给学生些什么?一把豆子,放进水中,只会长出豆芽;撒进土里,却能长出发达的根系、健壮的植株,结出累累的果实。相似的,如果我们只提供苍白单调的教育环境,日复一日做题、考试,则我们的学生即便拥有高分数,也难免变得脆弱而忧郁。只有在一片厚重的教育土壤中,才能生长出人格健全、富有生命活力与创新精神的青年。上世纪80年代,浙江省新昌中学以其创造发明教育而闻名全国。后来人们发现,他们的学生不但拥有省内领先的高考成绩;而且,在进入高校、走上社会之后,这些学生始终积极进取而又善于创新,这使他们在实现人生理想的道路上,走得更踏实、更快乐。在这三年中,新昌中学究竟怎样为学生的人生理想奠基呢?日前,本刊记者深入校园探访,看到了朴素而深刻的道德教育;看到了对质疑精神和批判性思维的培养、对自由思想与表达的呵护;看到了朝气蓬勃的课外活动与社会实践……或许还有一些东西,超出了我们的目力所及——比如对生命成长规律的尊重,开放民主的教育胸怀,等等。新昌中学所做的一系列关于人才培养模式的改革和探索,值得我们思考。
