2006年10月25日-30日,湖南省第六届少数民族传统体育运动会在张家界市隆重举行。湖南省人民政府副省长许云昭、省政府副秘书长姜儒振、省民委主任王德靖、省人大常委、民侨外委副主任石昌禄、张家界市市委书记刘力伟、市长胡伯俊等领导出席了开幕式。全省14个市、州和17个民族自治县分别组团参赛。参加本届民族运动会的运动员、教练员、裁判员和观摩人员创下了湖南省历届民族运动会之最。
From October 25 to October 30, 2006, the 6th National Minority Traditional Sports Games in Hunan Province was held in Zhangjiajie City. Xu Yunzhao, vice governor of Hunan Provincial People’s Government, Jiang Ruzhen, deputy secretary general of the provincial government, Wang Dejing, director of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission, Shi Changlu, member of the Standing Committee of Provincial People’s Congress, deputy director of the People’s Committee of Overseas Chinese, Liu Liwei, secretary of the Party Committee of Zhangjiajie, and Hu Boyun, mayor of Zhangjiajie attended the opening ceremony. Fourteen cities, prefectures and 17 national autonomous counties in the province each took part in the competition. Attending this national games athletes, coaches, referees and observers set the highest in all previous Hunan National Games.
