The 5th National Earthquake Engineering Conference was held in Beijing from October 20 to 22, 1998. More than 120 representatives from related research, design, universities, colleges, and administrative departments across the country attended the meeting. Lin Xuncai, Department of Investigation and Design, Ministry of Construction The leaders and relevant leaders attended the meeting. The Fifth National Earthquake Engineering Conference received 152 academic papers. The main contents included seismic zoning, strong ground motion and earthquake damage investigation reports, site seismic response and ground earthquake resistance; Comprehensive Technology for Enterprise Earthquake Disaster Prevention; Seismic Response Analysis of Building Structures; Seismic Design, Construction, Appraisal and Reinforcement of Buildings; Seismic Safety of Major Projects, Lifelines and Equipment; Seismic Vibration and Vibration Control Techniques for Engineering Structures and Equipment; Engineering Structures and Components Seismic test research and other eight aspects. The paper is rich in content, covers a wide range, and almost involves earthquakes.
