期刊建设在高等医药院校图书馆馆藏建设中备受重视。在各个学科中,近20年来医学和生物科学是属于发展得快、更新率高的。期刊是主要的信息来源。欲跟上世界医学发展的步伐,必须不间断地阅读期刊。 近年来书刊价格猛涨,各高校图书馆用于购置期刊的费用占图书馆经费的份额逐年上升。图书经费远远跟不上书刊价格的上涨幅度,这迫使我们不得不重视期刊工作,改善期刊馆藏建设。哪些杂志是必要的,哪些可以靠馆际互借,要做到心中有数,把有限的经费用于最迫切需要的地方。
The construction of periodicals has drawn more and more attention in the collection of libraries of higher medical colleges and universities. In all disciplines, medical and biological sciences have developed rapidly and have a high update rate in recent 20 years. Journals are the main source of information. To keep up with the pace of world medical development, we must read journals without interruption. In recent years, the prices of books and periodicals have skyrocketed. The expenses for library subscriptions of various academic libraries, accounting for the share of library funds, have risen year by year. Books funding is far behind the price increase of books, which forced us to pay attention to the journal work to improve the collection of periodicals. Which magazines are necessary and which ones can be lent by interlibrary should be well-known and the limited funds should be devoted to what is urgently needed.
