First, design and construction (1) Overview It is believed that the inspection wells are first applied in the United Kingdom. When the sewers need to be cleaned, they can be checked and cleaned at any time to avoid excavating trenches and causing wastage of equipment and time. Until the simple and reliable precast concrete was invented, it was checked and built of bricks for many years. The construction of precast concrete inspection wells is merely pouring concrete foundations, building a certain number of standard members with circular cross-sections on the foundations, and placing concrete caps supporting cast iron covers above the members.
