由于呼吸道吸入的气体和粉尘微粒、微生物、病毒及毒素与粘膜广泛的接触,其发病与周围环境有明显关系。呼吸道粘膜粘液纤毛的净化作用有着十分重要的意义。作者对68例粉尘性气管炎矿工(年龄为23~51岁,工龄5年以下者3例,6~10年者38例,11年以上者27例)用以下方法检查其分泌功能:将棉圈放入鼻腔1分钟,先测量干棉圈的质量,之后再测量棉圈的质量差数。差数为零者说明粘膜功能减退;差数为0.01~0.03g视为正常;差数在0.03g以上者为功能增强。此外还对分泌物进行组织学、组织化学及形态学检查。结果证明:工龄不到5年者,鼻腔粘膜的保护性反应明显,分泌物增加超出正常范围;工龄10年以
