[According to the American publication “Progressive Railroading”, No. 6, 1987] Metro-North Commuter Rail Company opened a repair shop on May 16 for a total cost of $ 13.7 million. Located 52 miles north of the Grand Central terminus in New York City, the facility, named Brewster Maintenance Works, will undertake the maintenance of trains on the Harlem Line owned by the Metro-North Railway Company.
