2012年12月24日,著名辽史专家向南(原名杨森)先生因病去世。惊闻噩耗,悲从心生,学界失去一位著名辽史专家,我则失去了一位尊敬的师长。20世纪八九十年代,我与向南先生同在辽宁社会科学院工作,他在历史研究所任研究员,从事辽史研究;我在《社会科学辑刊》编辑部做编辑,兼搞辽史研究。因子为先生编辑欲刊发之文稿,亦因我们所从事的研究方向一致,我与先生逐渐从相熟到相知,成了亦师亦友的同事。1997年,先生退休;七年后,我也调到了辽宁大学历史学
On December 24, 2012, a famous expert from Liao Dynasty southward (formerly known as Mr. Yang Sen) died of illness. Shock bad news, sad from the heart, the academic community lost a famous Liao history experts, I lost a respected teacher. In the 1980s and 1990s, I worked with Mr. Xiang Nan in Liaoning Academy of Social Sciences. He worked as a researcher at the Institute of History and engaged in the research of Liao history.
