东局子,是天津市一个非常有名的地方。从当年清政府在洋务运动中于这里创建天津机器制造总局和北洋水师学堂,到八国联军入侵中国后先后沦为法国兵营、日本兵营、美国兵营,再到今天中国人民解放军重点建设的 12所综合性院校之一——军事交通学院的所在地,东局子走过了 134年的历程。回顾历史,抚今思昔,一部东局子的历史就是一部中国人民要求富国强军、走向现代化的历史,就是一部中国人民反抗外国侵略、弘扬爱国主义的历史。在军事交通学院建院30周年即将来临之际,我们特以连载形式推出《东局子史话》,以飨读者。
East Council, is a very famous place in Tianjin. Since then, the Qing government founded the Tianjin General Bureau of Machinery Industry and the Northern Ocean Naval Academy here during the Westernization Movement. After the Eight-Power Allied Forces invaded China, they successively reduced themselves to French barracks, Japanese barracks, and American barracks, and to today’s 12 key constructions of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army The seat of the Military Transport Institute, one of the comprehensive institutions, has experienced 134 years of development. Reviewing history and asking the best of the world, the history of an East Council is a history in which the Chinese people demand that the rich and the powerful should be strengthened and modernized. This is the history of the Chinese people’s resistance against foreign aggression and the promotion of patriotism. At the dawn of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Military Transport Institute, we launched the “Story of the Eastern Bureau” in serial form to readers.
