贵阳经济技术开发区自1993年初建立以来,在省市党委、政府的领导下,在国务院特区办及省市有关职能部门的支持指导下。依托于本区域雄厚的工业基础,开发建设呈现良好的势头。1998年,全区工业总产值完成17亿元,为建区前的2.46倍,其中区属企业完成工业总产值4.88亿元,为建区前的7.1倍;乡镇企业总产值完成9.9亿元,总收入完成15.8亿元,分别比建区前增长4.5倍和5.3倍,工商税收完成8450万元,为建区前的2倍;区级财政收入完成3007万元,为建区前的4.55倍,引进资金20余亿元,实际利用外资8000万美元,外商投资企业20余家,新创产值5亿元。
