Vodafone UK announced that it will buy a 15% stake in Nippon Telecom for 2.5 billion US dollars in order to compete with rival BT. Vodafone will buy shares from two shareholders of Japan Telecom, West Japan Railway and Chubu Railway. The move shows that Vodafone will have access to JT’s wireless unit, J-Phone
